The contents
In addition to a LED lamp and a USB cable to connect it, each starter kit also includes a prep & remover kit. You can also purchase this as a refill pack when it runs out. This kit contains:
- 5 cuticle pushers,
- 24 remover pockets,
- 12 Cleanser/Finisher pads,
- 1 nail file.
The USB cable can be connected to a USB adapter, such as the one from your phone, power bank, or laptop. It's handy to connect this before polishing your nails to reduce the risk of damage. The preparation
Before you start polishing, you need to prepare properly. This ensures that your nail polish lasts as long as possible. File your nails into shape with the nail file and push back the cuticles with a cuticle pusher. Then use the file to make the surface of your nail matte.
Next, clean your nail thoroughly with the Cleanser/Finisher wipes. It is very important that your nails are truly free of grease and dust; otherwise, the gel polish won't adhere optimally. So, avoid touching your nails after cleaning. Let your nails air dry for about 30 to 60 seconds before applying the Impulss Gel Polish.
The polishing
The unique thing about this polish is that you don’t need to use a base coat or top coat. Start with the four nails on your left or right hand; you will do your thumb later. Apply a thin layer of Gel Polish with a smooth motion. A layer that is too thick will not cure properly under the LED lamp and will therefore be more prone to damage. If the first layer is not fully opaque, that’s okay; better to have two thin layers than one thick layer. Don’t forget to polish the front of the nail as well; otherwise, the gel may lift from the front.
Tip: Start with the four nails on your left hand (if you are right-handed). Follow all the steps (preparing, polishing, curing). You can repeat this until you achieve the desired result. Then follow all the steps for the 4 nails on your right hand and finally do both thumb nails. This reduces the risk of damage.
Curing with the LED lamp
If you accidentally got gel polish around your nail, remove it with one of the included cuticle pushers before curing under the LED lamp. Connect the LED lamp to a USB port (if it isn’t already connected) and lay your fingers flat in the lamp to activate it. The lamp will turn on automatically when you place your hand inside and will turn off again after 30 seconds. For the best results, we recommend curing all polished nails for 2 x 30 seconds. After that, you can (optionally) apply a second layer of Impulss Gel Polish and let it cure in the lamp again.
Then repeat all these steps for the four nails on the other hand. Finally, do the thumb nails.
Removing the Gel Polish
Removing it is also very quick and easy. You can safely and quickly remove the Impulss gel polish with the included Remover Pockets. Never remove the gel with a sharp object or by pulling on it, as this can seriously damage your own nails. Gently file the top of your nails with the file from the starter kit until small scratches appear in the gel. Be careful here as well; if you file too long, you can still damage your own nails.
Place the moist part of the Remover Pad directly on your nail. Wrap the Remover Pad around your finger and bend the edge over so that it fits snugly around your finger. Do this for all nails and let it sit for at least 10 minutes. If the gel polish hasn’t come off after 10 minutes, leave the Pads on for another 10 minutes. Remove the Remover Pads and gently remove the (now soft) gel polish with a cuticle pusher. Then wash your hands thoroughly.
And there you go! Quick and easy beautiful nails that last a long time. One last tip: after using these products, a hand cream or nourishing nail oil is a nice extra touch. :) Have fun with the Impulss LED lamp!
