5 tips voor het behouden van je kunstwimpers

Finding the perfect false lashes can be quite a challenge. But once you've found your favorite pair, you naturally want them to last as long as possible. How do you achieve that? With these five tips, you should be good to go!

1. Don't use mascara
Avoid using mascara on your false lashes if you want to reuse them as much as possible. Every time you remove mascara from your false lashes, the curl will diminish. That's a shame. It's also not ideal to leave mascara on them. This makes the lashes less flexible and harder to apply in the future.

It's not very hygienic to apply them with old mascara either. This can lead to eye irritation, which you definitely want to avoid. Often, it's not even necessary because the volume of the lashes is usually sufficient. If you feel you must, you can apply a bit of mascara to your own lashes before putting on the false ones. Just make sure it dries well so they don't stick together before you apply the lashes.

2. Remove the false lashes properly from your eyelids
Gently peel the false lashes off, don’t do it in one swift motion. If you do, you might end up pulling out some of your own lashes along with the fake ones. Start from the inner corner of your eye and carefully loosen the lashes bit by bit.

3. Clean the false lashes with oil-free makeup remover
When the false lashes get dirty, it’s important to clean them well for next time. This prevents the buildup of bacteria. Use a bit of oil-free makeup remover on a cotton swab and place your false lashes on a tissue. Then, starting from the lash line, gently remove all makeup residue. This way, you ensure the lashes maintain their shape and can be reused more often.

4. Always remove the glue after use
It’s wise to remove the lash glue after wearing them. If you don’t and leave the glue on each time, you risk damaging the lash band. The easiest way is to remove the glue immediately after taking them off. If you wait, the glue often hardens and becomes more difficult to remove. Using tweezers, you can gently pull the remnants off the lash band. Just be careful not to pull out any lash hairs.

5. Store the false lashes in a lash case
After following the tips above, it’s also important to store the false lashes properly. Keep them in a clean container for lashes, such as a lash case or the box they came in. This helps the lash band retain its shape, making it easier to apply next time.

By consistently following these tips, you’ll enjoy your false lashes for much longer. Are you still looking for the perfect fake lashes? Check out our lash page!
